A Model Citizen September 10, 2009

When the sun was shining, the lovely Miss Emma Satterfield played model to my work with the extraordinary Mr. Alain Champagne behind the camera. All I can do is hope that everyone enjoys these shots as much as I do! Check out the rest of the shots in the work section.

About Bootes July 20, 2009

Bootes just started out as a tattoo for me, the kind you get on a day off because you can.  I told myself that the constellation had all the requirements of a good tattoo design: one, it had just enough meaning and two, it looked good enough to wear as an elderly woman.  As for the meaning, my last name being Booton made a solid connection to the constellation, and it was as close as I was going to get to tattooing my last name for everyone to see.  So when it came to naming my designs and work, I found that the good reasons for getting the tattoo also applied to my business and creative endeavors.

And I did do the research behind the constellation, at least a little bit.  Bootes is also known as the herdsman, and that’s an image I liked for my work.  Because, like everyone else, I would like to believe that I’m doing something worth following.  So that leads me back to my jewelry, my entry into a world of working with my hands and seeing something come out of it, not to mention a wonderful alternative to the retail industry.  This blog will be my testing ground for all the other things I get my hands into as well, because it’s bursting from my seams.  In other words, from one beginner to another.

As far as you the reader being interested in a particular piece, please drop me a line and it will begin making its way from me to you.

Stay classy
